Allianz Australia enters strategic partnership with the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia

1 July 2025

After receiving regulatory approvals on 12 June, 2025, Allianz Australia announced today that its partnership with the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia Incorporated (RAA) has officially commenced.

This partnership includes the purchase of RAA’s general insurance business and a 20-year exclusive distribution agreement for the Home and Motor insurance product lines of RAA. Today, Allianz also welcomed around 300 RAA employees.

Richard Feledy, Managing Director of Allianz Australia, said: "At the heart of this collaboration are two organisations with shared values and a commitment to delivering exceptional care and value to our customers and members.

“Both Allianz and RAA have a proud history of supporting Australians for over 100 years, and we are looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in bringing together Allianz’s global and local insurance expertise, with the trusted RAA brand.”

RAA CEO Nick Reade said RAA was excited to partner with Allianz to continue to grow RAA Insurance and further cement its place as South Australia’s leading insurer for decades to come.

“With Allianz Australia now underwriting RAA Insurance policies, we’re keeping the trusted RAA brand, award winning products and strong local presence right here in South Australia,” Mr Reade said.

“We believe this partnership with a leading global insurer will deliver more benefits and insurance products for our more than 830,000 members in the future.”

All insurance products and services will continue to operate under the RAA brand, with Allianz bringing both global and local expertise to support RAA’s 830,000 members.
